Additional The Queen's Fool: A Novel (Boleyn) Information

A young woman caught in the rivalry between Queen Mary and her half sister, Elizabeth, must find her true destiny amid treason, poisonous rivalries, loss of faith, and unrequited love.

It is winter, 1553. Pursued by the Inquisition, Hannah Green, a fourteen-year-old Jewish girl, is forced to flee Spain with her father. But Hannah is no ordinary refugee. Her gift of "Sight," the ability to foresee the future, is priceless in the troubled times of the Tudor court. Hannah is adopted by the glamorous Robert Dudley, the charismatic son of King Edward's protector, who brings her to court as a "holy fool" for Queen Mary and, ultimately, Queen Elizabeth. Hired as a fool but working as a spy; promised in wedlock but in love with her master; endangered by the laws against heresy, treason, and witchcraft, Hannah must choose between the safe life of a commoner and the dangerous intrigues of the royal family that are inextricably bound up in her own yearnings and desires.

Teeming with vibrant period detail and peopled by characters seamlessly woven into the sweeping tapestry of history, The Queen's Fool is another rich and emotionally resonant gem from this wonderful storyteller.

What Customers Say About The Queen's Fool: A Novel (Boleyn):

Was received in very good condition and on time. Look forward to doing business with you in the future.

If you like history of England, this series is a great way to start reading. Not only it is entertaining, but also you learn a lot about history in the process.

She loves spending time with her father and spending time at court, which presents a problem because she can't be both places at once. She loves Robert Dudley and her husband, Daniel Carpenter.

The other three were fascinating, informative and page-turning. This one was tedious.

"The Queen's Fool" is the fourth Phillipa Gregory book in this series I have read. Hannah loves both Queen Mary (yes, the bloody one) and Princess Elizabeth, which presents a problem because the two are always plotting against one another.

Hannah Verde, the protagonist, (aka the Queen's Fool, Mistress Boy, Hannah Green, Hannah Carpenter, My Lord's Vassal and so forth)is a fool indeed. She is the most fickle, unpredictable protagonist imaginable.

which presents a problem because her loyalties are constantly divided between the two. Although the main story is interesting, Hannah seems more like a plot device to keep the story moving than she does a real person.

This is one of the best books I have read this year. I ordered it (hardcover), read it, passed it on to friends then donated it to the library. All of us couldn't put it down once we started it. This is one of the books I will recommend to people for a long time.

Phillipa Gregory has written another favorite of mine.I was tired of hearing about all the bad in queen Mary, Gregory portrayed her in a more human way. Over all a wonderful novel.
